Longueuil – The APTS (Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux) is proud to announce that it has been chosen by non-unionized professionals and technicians employed at Santé Québec headquarters as the union that will represent them.

“We’ve been meeting with people employed at Santé Québec headquarters for several months, and they’ve helped us understand the scope of the problems they face,” said APTS president Robert Comeau. “Challenges include making sure their expertise and seniority are recognized, ensuring they have access to training and professional development, and developing a framework for remote work. We’re eager to represent them and start defending their interests in dealing with Santé Québec.”

Over 140 people will be joining the APTS. They will benefit from its well-known expertise in labour relations in the public system, and will experience the working conditions negotiated for their colleagues in other Santé Québec institutions.

They are joining the union at a key moment as the APTS, which represents over 68,000 professionals and technicians throughout Québec, starts to prepare for the next round of bargaining talks. For the first time, these bargaining talks will take place with Santé Québec as the sole employer in the public system.

“By choosing to come together and speak with one voice, APTS members at Santé Québec headquarters are sending a powerful message to one of Québec’s biggest employers,” concluded the APTS president. “One year before the beginning of a new round of public sector contract talks, professionals and technicians working in health and social services stand in solidarity to ensure that Quebecers are provided with accessible, high-quality services.”
