Québec is facing a systemic crisis fuelled by decades of underfunding, centralization and privatization. It’s time to change course – and we have bold, concrete solutions to suggest in order to put the public system back on an even keel. A bOLD IDEA FOR AUGUST
Access to care should never depend on your postal code. And yet, remote regions continue to face well-identified obstacles that make it difficult to attract and retain employees: lack of housing, lack of childcare places, high cost of living, and limited options in terms of transportation. This means that positions are left unfilled, reliance on independent workers becomes greater, and local services deteriorate.
In 2026, the APTS is suggesting concrete solutions to provide regions with the resources they need to attract employees, welcome them, and retain them in the long term.
