The APTS reacts to the Canadian federal election results - APTS

Longueuil – The APTS (Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux) takes note of the election of Mark Carney as Prime Minister of Canada, at the head of a Liberal minority government.

“We will work with the newly elected government to defend the interests of the 65,000 members we represent — most of whom are women — who are committed to taking care of others and supporting them through difficult times of their lives.

We will continue to advocate with the government on four issues that are fundamental to the future of our society:

  • protecting gains and defending the rights of women and people of diverse backgrounds;
  • introducing universal public drug insurance;
  • the struggle against climate change;
  • increasing federal health transfers.

The APTS would like to congratulate citizens who made their voices heard and contributed to the health of our democratic institutions by exercising their right to vote.”

– Robert Comeau, APTS president
