Letter or agreement no22 - Regarding the creation of a provincial inter-union committee on the integration of employees from indigenous communities

The parties agree to set up a provincial inter-union working committee on the integration of employees from Indigenous communities.

MANDATE

The committee has a mandate:

  • to analyze cultural issues related to the integration of employees from Indigenous communities;
  • to analyze issues related to remuneration and the accessibility of certain job titles;
  • to collaborate in finding ways to attract and integrate workers from Indigenous communities.

The committee makes recommendations and submits a final report to the negotiating parties no later than six (6) months before the collective agreement expires.

The parties may also agree to make recommendations to the negotiating parties throughout the period when the committee is doing its work.

COMPOSITION

The committee consists of eleven (11) members, who are appointed as follows:

  • four (4) representatives of the employer side;
  • seven (7) representatives of the union side, i.e., one (1) representative of each of the following union organizations: FSSS-CSN, FP-CSN, APTS, SCFP/CUPE-FTQ, SQEES- 298-FTQ, FSQ-CSQ and SPGQ.

The parties may call in additional resource people as needed.
