Letter or agreement no20 - Regarding union leave for provincial committees

Despite the provisions of clause 10.16 of the collective agreement, union leave to participate in the work or attend meetings of provincial committees created under the 2024-2028 collective agreement is unpaid and is covered by the rules of clause 10.05 of the collective agreement.

These committees include the following:

  • working committee on the funding of the employee-funded portion of the Government and Public Employees Retirement Plan (RREGOP);
  • working committee on parental rights;
  • provincial working committee regarding support for employees working in the youth centre mission;
  • provincial working committee on local pilot projects to support employees’ overall health;
  • provincial working committee on workload;
  • provincial working committee on employees working in certain regions facing acute problems of workforce availability;
  • provincial inter-union working committee to follow up on prevention and participation mechanisms set out in the Act to modernize the occupational health and safety regime;
  • provincial inter-union working committee on the integration of employees from Indigenous communities;
  • provincial inter-union working committee on measures for certain job titles involving work in mental health;
  • provincial inter-union working committee on employees with the job title of lawyers in the health and social services system;
  • provincial working committee on professional issues;
  • provincial working committee to update the national provisions of the collective agreement following the creation of Santé Québec and the adoption of Bill 15;
  • provincial working committee to update institutions covered by Article 22 and Appendices 6 and 8.
