The APTS responds to the tabling of Bill 67
June 4, 2024
Longueuil – The APTS (Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux) has responded to the tabling of Bill 67, which expands the scope of professional practices, by Treasury Board president, Sonia LeBel.
“The government is proposing a big step forward in recognizing the expertise of APTS members, by granting many professionals the right to make diagnoses, including with respect to mental health services and language disorders,” said APTS president Robert Comeau. “That said, granting these additional responsibilities should be officially recognized when it comes to job evaluations. And for this reform to be successful and promote the accessibility and quality of public services to Quebecers, it must be accompanied by better working and practice conditions, as well as adequate workforce planning.”
As the largest representative of professional and technical employees in the health and social services system, the APTS will study the provisions of the bill and ask to present its recommendations as part of a parliamentary committee review.
