Facing distress | Caring, supporting, providing relief - APTS

Montréal – Diving deep into a world rarely glimpsed by the public, Face à la détresse: accompagner, intervenir, soulager is a series that reveals the day-to-day experience of workers accompanying the most vulnerable members of our society, including young people followed by youth protection, people facing precarity and addiction, and people living with mental health problems. The series highlights the expert knowledge, skills and commitment of these essential workers, showing the challenges and successes that shape their lives at work.

Written and directed by Sasha Campeau, the codirector of De garde 24/7, the series consists of three thematic episodes providing an authentic, deeply human immersion into the worlds of youth protection, precarity and addiction, and mental health. Produced by Savoir média in partnership with the APTS (Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux), Face à la détresse lets us hear the voices of genuine heroes who work unseen to make our society a better place. Each episode also benefits from the insights of an academic researcher who helps us understand the protagonists’ world. This is an inspiring series that leaves you feeling better.

The series will be available online starting March 5, and episodes will also be broadcast once a week every Thursday at 8 p.m., starting March 12, on Savoir média.
