2015 pay equity audit: what’s happening with complaints?
January 30, 2026
Since 2024, the CNESST (Québec’s Labour Standards, Pay Equity and Occupational Health and Safety Commission) has been investigating complaints related to the 2015 pay equity audit. These are complaints filed by both unions and individuals after the results of the audit were posted. Some employees may be asked to provide information as part of the investigation process.
Here’s what you need to know.
Who might be contacted?
You might be asked to participate in the inquiry if you were employed by an institution in the health and social services system between December 20, 2010, and December 21, 2015. If this is the case, we urge you to participate: people who held the jobs under investigation can provide crucial information.
What should I expect when I am interviewed?
If you agree to participate, here’s what you need to know to prepare for the interview.
- Questions will focus on factual elements that won’t require any specific preparation, such as the organization of work on your team or your main duties and responsibilities.
- The CNESST will want to:
- develop an overall picture of the job, and
- find out if any significant events occurred between 2010 and 2015.
- Significant events are those that may have changed the value of the job in terms of required qualifications, required effort, or working conditions.
We recommend that you have a conversation with your immediate superior before the interview so that you can arrange your schedule to be available for it.
If you have questions about the interview or your participation in the inquiry, don’t hesitate to contact your APTS provincial representative.
