International women's rights day - APTS

Over 50 years ago, the newspaper Québécoises deboutte! brought a new energy to the streets and to people’s consciousness. With just a few words – Women of Québec, stand up! – it gave voice to an emerging feminism determined to make itself heard despite the taboos of the day. More than just a slogan, it was a call to action and a rallying cry for a society based on greater justice, equality and freedom.

Today, economic, political and social forces continue to divide and oppress us as they try to roll back our rights, stop our advances and sow fear and hatred. From one generation to the next, our calls echo each other, our struggles are intertwined, and our victories converge on equality. Feminism is renewing itself, becoming more rooted as it draws strength from diversity. To fight reactionary currents, we can count on feminist forces characterized by vitality, solidarity and multiplicity. Let’s reignite our momentum and refuse all setbacks. Generations, stand up – Générations deboutte!

Feminists are mobilizing around March 8. Don’t miss anything – follow the Collectif 8 mars on Facebook or Instagram! You can download and share the visuals below to proudly display your commitment.
